The settings I have used in the tutorial suit his HDRIs well but the results may vary a little with other HDRIs. ![]() In addition, please note that the scene is lit with one of Guthrie's HDR images which he sells online. I felt it would be useful to try to consolidate what I have learned into one concise video. In addition there are some other steps which I have worked out while experimenting with the technique. ![]() Please note that I have learned much of what is presented in this tutorial by going though Peter Guthrie's blog in detail. I may look at updating the video in due course. If left checked however it will break the wire-parameters wiring action and rotating the dome will not rotate the HDRI! Hopefully the video is clear enough that you will be able to eliminate this section and still get a satisfactory result. This effectively eliminates the need for the wire-parameters portion of the video. ![]() V-Ray 3.0 has a new setting under the dome light entitled 'lock to dome orientation.' This will lock the textures horizontal rotation to to the z rotation of the V-Ray dome light. Please note that this tutorial is based on a pre-3.0 version of V-Ray.
